Shades of Gray: Polymer clay

Something new for everyone that loves Gray & Black! I created these earrings using Premo! clay in Black, Pearl, Antique Gold, also a bit of Fimo Soft in Aqua & Seafoam. I made the tiny spacer beads using a thick straw as a cutter for the shape. They are topped off with a steel gray Freshwater Pearl. Ethnic Inspired Polymer clay Jewelry

I love the rich earth-toned colors and varied textures of my latest collection of wearable art.
The deep russet, gold, and copper shades remind me of the falling leaves in Autumn. I miss the change of seasons, living here in sunny Florida. You would think I'd be used to it after over 30 years of living on the West Coast. I think my heart will always belong to the small CT. town that I grew up in.

Please come browse my Etsy Shop for these pieces, and many more of my artisan jewelry.

Wearable Art for your Ears

Inks & Foil with 18K Gold
What's on my work-table this week?  Earrings!  I love making earrings, they are practically the only jewelry I wear, other than my wedding ring.
I created a fern mold & made a few sets of these, with 14K gold findings. They are quite thin & delicate, with a generous coating of resin, to add shine & depth.
Of course, I had to make some purple earrings too, my favorite color!
These "Fairy Wing" earrings are something a bit different for me. I wasn't sure I liked them & I almost threw them in the reject bowl (yes, I have a Large reject bowl) but I managed to tweak them a bit & they turned out quite interesting!
I made these leaf shaped earring from an old Kaleidoscope cane. I love Hot Pink & Orange together, it's such a 70's retro look.

Garden Inspirations...Flowers & Butterflies

Click on photo to see a larger view
It's funny how working in the garden, hands in the dirt, sun on your back, can inspire you to create something totally unique.  I think I zone-out while I'm digging around, planting colorful flowers & pulling pesky weeds. So, that is how these new little cone-shaped Vintage looking earrings came about. I believe I do my best work when I don't think, don't plan, just let it happen -lol Clear your mind, put on some music, take a deep breath,
and let your creativity flow...

Native Florida Plants that Attract Butterflies Many beautiful native Florida plants have the added advantage of attracting butterflies, the most attractive of all winged insects. Since butterflies usually migrate long distances, they require frequent stopovers for food and rest.

Our front garden is full of Butterfly
attracting flowers. I just love to
watch them fluttering around, the dogs
are absolutely mystified by them too.

Misty Moon Pendants

New Misty Moon pendants made with Premo Clay in a soft Heather shade.  I used a Mica Shift striae technique to give the Moon dimension.  The back of the pendant is a Mica Shift flower pattern done in a Grape/Purple color. I made my own Bezel setting out of silver clay with a carved Mica Shift design.

Polymer Clay Baroque Earrings

Brand New Polymer Clay Baroque Earrings feature sea foam freshwater pearls & Swarovski Crystals in a rich teal color.
As you can see from the side view, the earrings have the look of rippling waves or glistening water droplets!

I just completed these earrings called Morning Dew, the colors are a mix of grass green, olive, aqua & watery turquiose. These are some of my favorite colors together, they remind me of a walk in the woods in the early morning, when the dew is still on the blades of grass & the delicate spider-webs are visible as a blanket of sparkling lace.
