Bird Ring/ Trinket Dish

These little bird dishes are a bit of handmade art, to hold your rings and things. They make great gifts for birthdays, hostess, teacher, or special friend! They are created from 100% polymer clay, and decorated with some of my unique cane slices. The edges are hi-lighted with 18 KT. Gold Leaf.

Wise Owl Trinket Dish

 The Wise Owl trinket dish is made from Premo Gold metallic clay. It was distressed using Adirondack Turquoise patina ink.

Polymer Clay Dragon Egg Pendant Tutorial

        If you've ever watched The Game of Thrones series on HBO, you know all about
        Dragon's Eggs. The show inspired me to create some fantasy pendants. I wrote this

Summer Weddings: Polymer Clay Ring Dishes

Summer Jewelry Trends: Polymer Clay & Seashells

Summer breezes, salt water, sand, & Seashells! One of my favorite hobbies is collecting unusual
shells from our gorgeous Florida beaches. I love incorporating my finds into my polymer clay
jewelry.

The most difficult shells to find are the orange scallop shells, the tinier the better. Nature creates such stunning colors. The background of this photo was taken on Sarasota Bay.

This bracelet contains a mix of small scallop shells, Cat's Paws, Orange Jingle shells.

Lots of white Polymer Clay, Flowers, Butterflies, and Leaves, that's what you'll find on my work desk today!

This lovely Spring weather has inspired me to create a Floral Teapot, to add to my growing collection.
Keep watching for updates on my Teapot to see how I finish it. I'm not sure if I will keep it all white, or maybe use some Patina Inks to add some subtle color washes. My neighbor stopped by to purchase 2 Butterfly Necklaces for her daughters, she saw me working on the Floral Teapot and loved it, so this one is already sold. I think everyone seems to love butterflies as much as I do:) Here is the completed 
teapot, I used a turquoise patina ink, verdigris, and olive green. The finishing touch was the hi-lighting
done in 18K gold leaf.

I enjoy gardening & butterflies, so I always try to plant flowers that will attract colorful butterflies. My verbenas are just starting to bloom, in all their purple splendor!

Polymer Clay Faux Dichroic Jewelry

The Holidays are just around the corner, so I've been busy creating some colorful
Faux Dichroic jewelry for my Etsy Shop.  I always wanted to work with real
dichroic glass, but this is the next best thing! I use a nice thick coat of Enviro tex lite resin
to bring my faux glass creations to life.

My Valentine Heart Bracelet is featured on Polymer Clay Daily

I was delighted to see my Valentine Heart Bracelet featured on Cynthia Tinapple's blog, Polymer Clay Daily. My morning ritual consists of sitting down with my cup of Hazelnut coffee, and looking at what new gems Cynthia has discovered to inspire us! It's a great way to start the day! She introduces us to artists from around the globe, and lets us peek at their latest creations and experiments.

Polymer Clay: What's on my Worktable this Week

I'm working on a few canes this week, using Premo Pearl clay in blends of woodsy earth tones, turquiose, green, brown, and tan.
I created a tab bead bracelet using the large cane, I added Gold Leaf accents to the edges. I polished the beads using my bench lathe. I also made a pendant & earring set, that has a coating of Enviro-tex lite resin.
The pink/orange/gold tab bracelet in the right hand corner was an experiment in Faux Raku. I used a base of black clay & texturized it with extra-large grit sandpaper. Then I applied Pearl-Ex powders & Perfect Pearls using my finger. Next, I dabbed on some Sculpey Glaze, then baked the beads for 30 minutes. The Sculpey Glaze caused the Pearl-ex powders to bubble up (looking more like a ceramic Glaze). While the beads were still hot from the oven I added some Kato Clear liquid clay straight from the squeeze bottle, kind of blobbing it on. I popped them in the oven again for another 30 minutes, using the heat gun to clarify them.

My Brand New Tutorial was just released in my Etsy Shop Beadazzle Me

So many customers and friends asked me to write this tutorial, and I finally completed it! It was a conglomeration of 2 things I love to do, Paint and work with Polymer Clay. Just give me a paint brush I will happily paint just about anything!

I would much rather be creating something with Polymer Clay, than sitting at a computer writing instructions.  I'm not good at sitting still, my mind is always full of new ideas & techniques,
that I could be trying. I hope you all enjoy this tutorial, it's a lot of fun!
