A Tribute to Mr. Buttons R.I.P.

Rest in Peace dear friend, companion, confidante.  We enjoyed your sweet face
everyday for 13 years. You will be missed, but the memories you left behind will last forever in our hearts.

                                                Whitney & her Doggie

"We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals."
Dogs...do not ruin their sleep worrying about how to keep the objects they have, and to obtain the objects they have not. There is nothing of value they have to bequeath except their love and their faith.
Pets are our close companions because they provide love, comfort, safety, warmth, levity, wonder, laughter, happiness and friendship. Pets teach us to have more patience with life and to enjoy the simple things.

  1. I found this poem to be of comfort to me when it was time for my beloved Maggie Mae to leave this earth.
May you find comfort in the memory of your sweet one knowing that you gave him love for all his days.

    Parting Prayer

Dear Lord, please open your gates
    and call St. Francis
to come escort this beloved companion
    across the Rainbow Bridge.

Assign him to a place of honor,
for he has been a faithful servant
and has always done his best to please me.

Bless the hands that send him to you,
for they are doing so in love and compassion,
freeing him from pain and suffering.

Grant me the strength not to dwell on my loss.
Help me remember the details of his life
with the love he has shown me.
And grant me the courage to honor him
by sharing those memories with others.

Let him remember me as well
and let him know that I will always love him.
And when it's my time to pass over into your paradise,
please allow him to accompany those
    who will bring me home.

    Thank you, Lord,
for the gift of his companionship
and for the time we've had together.

    And thank you, Lord,
    for granting me the strength
to give him to you now.

    Amen.

  2. I only met Buttons once but remember well how sweet he was. So tiny and white like a cottonball. Bless Him and know when folk met him, they remember him. Rest In Peace.
